Projective Measure of Personality Assessment

Welcome to “Projective Measure of Personality Assessment," a web-based survey that validates a new personality construct. Before taking part in this study, please read the information below and click on the “signature of Research Participant” button at the bottom of the page if you understand the statements and freely agree to participate in the study.

This study involves a web-based study designed to create a new personality construct based on the frequency of death-thought related cognition. The study is being conducted by Dr. Daniel Niesta of University of Rochester, and it has been approved by the Rochester University Institutional Review Board (RSRB #22149). No deception is ivolved, and the study involves no more than minimal risk to participants (i.e., the level of risk encountered in daily life).

Participation in the study typically takes 5 minutes and is strictly anonymous. Participants are answering a series of questions about the frequency and essence of death-thoughts they encounter for themselves and for their friends and family.

All responses are treated as confidential, and in no case will responses from individual participants be identified. Rather, all data will be pooled and published in aggregate form only. You should be aware, however there is a small possibility that responses could be viewed by unauthorized parties (e.g., computer hackers) because your responses are being entered and stored on a "http" server.

Visitors to this web site are welcome to complete the study, although they will receive no credit or monetary compensation. Participation is voluntary, refusal to take part in the study involves no penalty or loss of benefits to which participants are otherwise entitled, and participants may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which they are otherwise entitled.

If participants have further questions about this study or their rights, or if they wish to lodge a complaint or concern, they may contact the principal investigator, Daniel Niesta, PH.D. at (585) 275-8724; or you may contact the Human Subjects Protection Specialist at the University of Rochester Research Subjects Review Board, Box 315, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, ANY 14642-8315, Telephone 011(585) 276-0005, for long-distance you may call toll-free, 011(877) 449-4441.
